Florida
By Anthony Wheeler on 27 October 2009
Well, being the end of our time in Florida, I thought I'd have a recap of everything we've done so far.
Well we all know so much about space now, as we've had so many trips around the Kennedy Space Center and NASA it's all we know about now, anything from the first man in space, or the first american in space, or why the shuttle is coloured the way it is, or how everything in general works. We know almost everything now, or at least we pretend we do. A very rare event for NASA is having two completely different space vehicles on both launch pads A and B, or even have two shuttles on both launch pads, this only happens when repairs are needed on the hubble telescope in case of emergencies or the load in the cargo bay is too big, or heavy to only be used in one shuttle. However, we saw the Ares 1-X rocket, a new prototype for the missions back to the moon, and the Space Shuttle Atlantis, making us the only group of school children to get that close to the Ares rocket before it's launch, so we are really quite special.
We also got the chance to go to sea world, which was very educational, while being really fun. Getting a behind the scenes tour of all the medical facilties of the animals, as well as seeing all the shows such as the Shamu Show, which was great. We all really learned a lot about marine life from that day, as well as having a lot of fun touching things such as sharks and sting rays, pretty cool!
(We'll all try and get some pictures up soon)
Bye!
